What you get, and what we promise

The plain terms of using Dialed: the free list, the membership, what a grade means and does not mean, how store links and prices work, and how to leave. Written to be read; the short version of each section is its first sentence.

What Dialed is

Dialed reads the sale pages of ski retailers twice a day, grades every price drop against the product's own price history, and tells you when a deal is worth your money. It is an information service. We do not sell gear, hold stock, or take your payment for anything a store sells; every purchase is between you and the store.

By using the site or joining the list you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, the fix is simple: do not use it.

The free list

The free list is free. You give an email address and, if you like, your sizes; we send the morning board and the occasional note about when to buy. Every email carries an unsubscribe link and a pause link, and both work at once. We never sell or rent the list.

Membership and renewal

Membership is a paid subscription at the price shown on the membership page when you join: a year, or a month, billed in advance. It includes instant alerts filtered to your sizes, the full price history of every model, the full consensus on each product, an unlimited Locker, landed-cost pricing to your door, and brand member codes where a brand offers them.

A membership renews at the end of its term at the price then published, unless you cancel first. We email you before a yearly renewal. A founding-seat price stays fixed for as long as the membership stays unbroken.

Cancelling and refunds

Cancel any time from your profile or by writing to us; the membership runs to the end of the paid term and does not renew. If a yearly membership is cancelled within 14 days of the first payment, we refund it in full. After that, and for monthly memberships, there is no partial refund, except where the law of your country says otherwise, in which case the law wins.

What a grade means

A grade is our reading of a price against that product's own history, by the rule on the how we grade page. It is an opinion formed by a rule, not a guarantee that a price is the lowest available anywhere, that it will hold, or that the product suits you. We get sizes from the store's page; the store's page is the truth about what is in stock.

Prices, stock and store links

Prices and stock are read from each store at the sweep and can change the minute after. The price on the store's page at checkout is the price. Landed-cost figures are estimates of shipping, duty and tax from published rates; the carrier's invoice is final.

Some store links pay us a commission when you buy. It never changes a grade, a rank, or whether a store is on the board; stores that pay nothing are tracked and linked exactly like the ones that do. Which stores pay is listed on the stores page.

Your profile and Locker

Your profile, sizes, Locker and watchlist are yours. At launch they are saved in your own browser and nowhere else, so clearing the browser clears them; when member sign-in arrives they move to your account. What you write in a Locker note stays private to you. You are responsible for keeping access to the email address you joined with.

Fair use

A membership is for one person. Do not share alerts in bulk, scrape the board, resell the data, or use the site to run a competing feed. We may close a membership that does, with a refund of the unused term.

Limits of what we promise

We work hard to read prices correctly and to send alerts on time, and we will sometimes be wrong or late: a store changes its page, a sweep fails, a size is listed that has just sold. The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for a purchase you make or miss on the strength of a grade, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights that the law of your country gives you and does not let us limit.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that matters, we email the list before the change takes effect and the date at the top of this page moves. Continuing to use Dialed after that date is agreeing to the new terms.
