What lands in the inbox

Six emails, built as production email HTML: tables, inline styles, 600 pixels wide, so they drop into SES once the bracketed merge fields are filled. A grade leads every deal subject line so you can triage in the preview pane, and nothing reaches a member that is not in their size.

How they are built

Email is its own medium. These are the decisions that keep the six readable in every client, including a phone in bad light at 5 a.m.

Tables
Every layout table carries role="presentation". The card is 600 pixels wide with max-width: 100%, and below 480 pixels the two-cell rows (price and button, tab and advice, keep and cancel) stack. Buttons are padded table cells, 44 pixels tall, so they hold their shape in Outlook.
Type
Barlow arrives through a Google Fonts link in the clients that honour it (Apple Mail, iOS Mail); everywhere else it is Arial. Nothing is set under 14 pixels, every text pair clears 4.5:1, and the headline, sections and deal names are real headings.
Board
The blue band carries the wordmark, the issue and its date, and the amber sweep time on the deal emails. The body is the white laminate: black numerals, hairline rules, a heavy rule under each board heading, and OPEN and GONE tabs that always carry the word.
Grades
The four grades are the site’s own drawn glyphs, rastered at 2x and placed at 14 pixels so the circle, square and diamonds carry the same weight. The name is always printed next to the glyph, so a client that blocks images still reads the grade. Outlook for Windows, which is told apart with a conditional comment, gets a filled cell for the circle and square and a text diamond instead; the circle degrades to a square there.
Images
The four glyphs are the only images, under 1 KB each, with empty alt text because the grade name sits beside them. These previews load them from email-assets/ next to the templates; production hosts them at an absolute URL on the Dialed domain so every client resolves them.
Dark mode
A color-scheme meta and a prefers-color-scheme: dark block give Apple Mail the First Chair board: navy ground, darker band, the laminate still lit. Gmail applies its own inversion instead, so every pair is high-contrast ink on white or white on a saturated fill, which stays readable when flipped.
Footer
Sender identity with a bracketed placeholder for the legal entity and postal address, the commission disclosure, a sentence that says why this particular email was sent, and three links on their own 44-pixel rows: unsubscribe in one click, pause for 30 days, change your sizes. The sender adds List-Unsubscribe headers.
Links
Every link is a bracketed merge field in the same convention as the sender identity: [store_url] on a deal button, [unsubscribe_url], [pause_url], [sizes_url] in the footer, [site_url] on the wordmark, and the calendar, membership and consensus links likewise. The sender fills them per recipient; in these previews they go nowhere.
